I began by researching competitor sites to understand how users evaluate security products. Early feedback from potential users revealed confusion around technical jargon and difficulty choosing between protection tiers. This insight shaped my focus on simplifying the language, improving plan comparison, and building credibility through clear visuals and testimonials.
One of the biggest struggles during the design process was finding the right balance between technical authority and user-friendly tone. The client initially wanted a dark, “tech-heavy” aesthetic with a lot of data visuals, but usability testing showed that non-technical users found it intimidating. After multiple iterations, I shifted to a more balanced visual style — professional, but still clean and approachable.
Another challenge was designing the pricing and subscription flow. Users wanted transparency without surprise charges, so I designed a step-by-step checkout that summarized costs and plan details at every stage. Adding micro-interactions for plan selection made the process more engaging and intuitive.
The final design featured a strong hero section with clear CTAs, a straightforward comparison table, trust badges, and a guided checkout experience. Post-launch, the client reported a noticeable improvement in sign-up rate and longer site engagement from visitors exploring multiple plans.
