Project Description: This project involved the complete design of a scheduling flow and interactive calendar interface tailored for gaming tournaments on STREETCRED. The objective was to design a clean, dynamic, and gamer-friendly UI that integrates smoothly with Discord, allowing users to track upcoming tournaments, set reminders, and view match timelines in real-time.
The project began with understanding the community’s workflow and how tournament scheduling currently operates on Discord. The focus was to create a modern and functional experience that simplifies event management while reflecting the energetic and competitive spirit of the STREETCRED brand.
Process
The process started with user journey mapping to understand how both organizers and players interact with tournament schedules. Based on the findings, I designed wireframes outlining the scheduling flow — including event creation, participant invites, and match updates.
Next, I developed interactive prototypes featuring a calendar view with day, week, and month modes, color-coded event types, and a notification system for upcoming matches. After usability testing, I refined the interface with bold typography, clean icons, and a dark gaming-inspired theme to match Discord’s environment and enhance visual appeal.
The Struggle
The main challenge was ensuring the scheduling system remained simple yet flexible enough to handle multiple tournaments simultaneously. Integrating a Discord-compatible flow that felt native to gamers required careful UX planning and visual consistency. Balancing functionality with a visually immersive gaming aesthetic also demanded multiple design iterations to achieve the right balance between usability and style.
